You would think that Enrique Iglesias has nothing left to prove. Born in Madrid on May 8th 1975. The Madrid-born, Miami-raised singer has sold 40 million albums in little over a decade, becoming one of the most successful artists in the history of popular music. In his early life enrique's Grandfather was kidnapped this led to Enrique moving to Miami to join his father Julio Iglesias because of his safety.Enrique did not want his father to know about his plans for a musical career, and did not want his famous surname to help advance his career. Borrowing money from his family nanny he recorded a demo tape which consisted of one Spanish song and two English songs. Enrique was signed by a then small indie record label called Fonovisa. Dropping out of college he went to Toronto, Ontario for six months to record his first album. His current record label now is Interscope.
